Optional. The toolbar defaults to the VEIL VPN. Tor routes this browser through your local Tor client (SOCKS5, DNS and .onion resolved by Tor). If Tor is unreachable, pages stay blocked. This is not a device-wide VPN, and it does not give Tor Browser fingerprinting protection.
